I’ve been looking forward to this release for a while now as it introduces a character I’ve roamed the plains of my mind with for several years, Bartimaeus, also known as No Man’s Son. He’s a problem solver for hire with a set of skills that make him ideal when the problem is, well, a little wyrd.
In this story, Bart gets called to the town of Buckhorn Hill to deal with a band of outlaws terrorizing the locals. They’re led by a blackhand, a magic user who has pulled too much power and driven himself mad. In ridding the town of the scourge, though, Bartimaeus discovers that a past he ran away from long ago has come back to haunt him.
